Hi, I’m Alok, founder of PlayGroundDad.com.
I love kids, and I’ve always enjoyed being around them. But I’ve also seen many dads struggle with the responsibilities of fatherhood. It’s not always easy to balance work and family, and this is true in every field.
Even though I love being a dad, I’ve faced my own challenges. There was a time when what I thought would be a fun journey turned into a source of stress for me. The reason? My little girl! My wife had to go back to work, and I had to manage everything at home while also trying to keep up with my blog. It felt overwhelming.
Over the next 3-4 years, I learned a few important lessons:
It was our choice…
We made the decision to have a child, to welcome her into our lives, knowing it would bring extra responsibilities. It wasn’t her choice. So, instead of feeling frustrated, we decided to embrace our decision and make the best of it. We realized that caring for our daughter was a promise we made to her even before she was born. So, no matter how tough things got, we stopped blaming her for our stress and started enjoying every moment with her.
We needed discipline…
Before our daughter was born, my wife and I weren’t very disciplined. We’d stay up late, miss breakfast, and often struggled to stay organized. But having a child taught us the importance of discipline. We realized that the problem wasn’t a lack of time but how we were using it. We learned to prioritize and make time for what truly mattered.
I’m not a superhero…
Sure, I might be one in my daughter’s eyes, but I’ve learned that I can’t do everything at once. Multitasking doesn’t work for me. If I try to juggle too many things, I end up not doing any of them well, especially when it comes to spending quality time with my family. So, I started focusing on one task at a time and making my family my priority.
We’re not alone…
I used to wonder if I was the only one feeling this way, but I’ve realized that many parents go through similar struggles. Now, I have some experiences and insights about fatherhood that I’d love to share. This blog is my way of reaching out to other parents who might be facing the same challenges. Let’s support each other and make this journey a little easier.
So, here’s to sharing our stories, learning from each other, and making the best of our parenting adventure. Let’s begin…
