(Video): How Parents Should React to American Idol Rejection

Whenever I watch American Idol (and I watch it. Religiously.) I always cringe imagining that it was one of my kids up there being judged by the entire world. I can barely watch when people that I don’t know are up there embarrassing themselves…couldn’t begin to think how I would handle it being one of my kids.

To that end, I thought this video from last week’s Jimmy Kimmel Show was particularly funny. It would be tough to watch your kid on American Idol, but what if you knew he or she just wasn’t good?

About Mike Johnson

My Family. Boston Sports. Music. Food. Video Games. Founder of Playground Dad. Live in Northern California with my wife and 4 daughters. The Wire is the best TV show ever. My daughters still tell me I'm funny and that's all that matters to me.

      • Our Mission

The average dad spends about 6 hours a week with his kids. That’s not perfect, but today’s dads are doing better than the previous generation. PlaygroundDad.com is for the dads who dare to make the most of these 6 sacred hours–no smart phones; no conference calls–just quality time.

Playground Dad connects this new generation of fathers with the events and products that help them spend better time with their newborn to grade school aged kids.
