VIDEO: Addressing Black Fatherlessness

With Father’s Day literally around the corner there are thoughts of the usual, bad gifts — ties, shaving cream, As-Seen-On-TV gadgets — gifts that probably cost no more than $10 and require less thought than it takes to switch channels on TV. But what about the kids who have no fathers to celebrate? The statistics are alarming and will sadden you. Actor, Tyrese, and this blogger had an opportunity to sit down with Headline News’ Mike Galanos to share our thoughts on this epidemic of fatherless and shout out all the dads who are doing as they should.

There are spikes from one ethnicity to the next but fatherless is not restricted by color lines. What are your thoughts on this issue?

The average dad spends about 6 hours a week with his kids. That’s not perfect, but today’s dads are doing better than the previous generation. PlaygroundDad.com is for the dads who dare to make the most of these 6 sacred hours–no smart phones; no conference calls–just quality time.

Playground Dad connects this new generation of fathers with the events and products that help them spend better time with their newborn to grade school aged kids.
