The Best Cartoon Theme Song of All-Time? There’s a Right Answer.

Our friend Michael, Playground Dad and Morning Donuts contributor, tweeted that he was bringing back memories this morning – watching the old school cartoon Toxic Crusaders with his kid. This is one of the huge commonalities of Playground Dads. We love to share those experiences, activities and products that we enjoyed back in the day with our kids.

@playgrounddad – I’m watching Toxic Crusaders with my son on @huluplus – definitely bringing back some memories.

Just as importantly, Michael’s tweet got me thinking about old school cartoon’s that I used to love and which ones my kids might enjoy. Going through my mental portfolio, I was reminded of all the FANTASTIC theme music from these shows. So I did a little internet surfing with my coffee this morning and came to a conclusion. The best cartoon theme song of all time? Disney’s Adventure’s of the Gummi Bears. Duh.

I am personally a fan of the Fraggle Rock song, although admittedly, it’s not an animated cartoon so perhaps it’s in another league all it’s own.

Classic! In terms of modern/current ones, I’m a big fan of the Gravity Falls theme song – using it as my ringtone at the moment…

andrew, I love Fraggle Rock and would suggest it rivals Gummi Bears bouncing here and there and everywhere, animated or not.

I’ve been watching Adventure Time with my daughter and the theme song is great. Short, lo-fi, catchy, and on ukulele! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xa0EjZxTFqk

The average dad spends about 6 hours a week with his kids. That’s not perfect, but today’s dads are doing better than the previous generation. PlaygroundDad.com is for the dads who dare to make the most of these 6 sacred hours–no smart phones; no conference calls–just quality time.

Playground Dad connects this new generation of fathers with the events and products that help them spend better time with their newborn to grade school aged kids.
