Sandwich Board Kids: Is Public Humiliation Effective Punishment or Abuse?
If you haven’t seen ABC’s What Would You Do?, it’s a show that stages events to determine what regular human beings would do in morality testing situations. You see a kids getting bullied: What would you do? You see someone belittling a homeless vet? What would you do? The show is kind of like an evil Candid Camera.
In a recent episode, the folks at WWYD staged a scene where a mother was punishing her kids by making them wear a sandwich board on a public street. We have seen different examples of this lately for punishments regarding social media and dishonesty. The feelings of passerby’s were certainly mixed.
What do you think of this segment? Good strong punishment or flat out emotional abuse?
