Memes are dumb. But I love them. So this semi-parenting related meme obviously caught my eye. Welcome “Sheltered Suburban Mom”. We all know her. Some of us ARE her.
Info on the origin of the meme from Knowyourmeme.com:
Sheltering Suburban Mom is an advice animal image macro series satirizing the stereotype of a suburban, overprotective mother who fails to practice what she preaches to her children. The series became widespread through advice animal hubsites like Quickmeme and Reddit’s subreddit.
The original image used in the series comes from a portrait photograph of the best-selling romance novel writer Carly Phillips, although it remains unclear why or how the author became associated with the joke. The earliest instance of the image macro (shown far right) can be traced back to May 5th, 2011, posted on Quickmeme and Reddit.
