- Idiot
- Wife is way better looking than he is
- Can’t handle being alone with his kids for 5 minutes
- Television’s favorite Dad

I can't stand that! Plus, I'm sorry, Handy Manny will calm the 2 year old down? Great. I hope most realise that it's meant to be tongue in cheek but I believe such media representations really do affect people's perceptions

It's kind of funny when the dad jiggles keys in front of the 5 year-old looking kid. But in the end it's media portraying dads/families in terribly which I think is harmful. What happened to the dad from 7th Heaven, now HE was a good role model.

This is one of the things about Advertising and TV in general that makes me sincerely grateful for Tivo!

I totally saw this commercial this weekend at the gym and thought the exact same thing! Why do they insist on making dad look like he's incompetent? If anyone is incompetent here, it's the marketing folks at AT&T :)

I thought that listening to the radio spot. Maybe it wouldn't be so difficult to spend time with daddy, if daddy talked to him instead of instantly going for distraction.

What’s remarkable about the commercial is not only the general fact that it plays up a tired and outdated stereotype, but that it goes out of its way to show that this is an exclusively dad problem (the issues only begin after mom leaves). And — of course — the solution (parking the kids in front of the modern-day boob tube) can hardly be the uplifting message that AT&T wants to broadcast. [...]
