Cooking Up Pancake Artistry

Most of us can prepare a bowl of cold cereal like a champ. Some of us can avoid burning Pop Tarts well enough to avoid any guilty feelings about our hungry kids. Then there’s the guy who makes art out of pancakes.

Just like it was when I was growing up, pancakes are a special occasion breakfast food and the whole process is not to be taken lightly. You have to make sure there’s plenty of syrup and butter available the night before to avoid disappointment come breakfast time. Let’s just say there have been plenty of mornings where we were forced to experiment with honey instead of syrup and it’s never gone well. Pancake artistry would be celebrated and ridiculed around our house: celebrated for its beauty and then devoured immediately without so much as a second thought.

Pass the syrup and step up your pancake game.

One of my fav memories from childhood is making green eggs & green pancakes that we shaped into the letters of our names or other fun objects. This is great!

The average dad spends about 6 hours a week with his kids. That’s not perfect, but today’s dads are doing better than the previous generation. PlaygroundDad.com is for the dads who dare to make the most of these 6 sacred hours–no smart phones; no conference calls–just quality time.

Playground Dad connects this new generation of fathers with the events and products that help them spend better time with their newborn to grade school aged kids.
