Caron Butler vs. The Family and The Importance of Focused Family Time

We recently had the Johnson Family Olympics, in which I did not medal. I think my kids cheated. Anyway, this great video with Los Angeles Clippers foward Caron Butler shows how much fun it is compete against the kids. Win or lose.

Nothing better than focused family time, when you lose yourself in playing with the kids. Are there any activities like this that you do in your house that you can recommend to other dads?

My son and I have a battle over the board game Go. He mops the board with me usually. But, I won the last one. No more letting him win as a way to teach him the game.

That video was hilarious. Fun watching families have some healthy competition in order to bond.
As for my family, we go after each other on the mini golf course. We also enjoy setting up obstacle courses in the backyard with a variety of the children’s toys and sports equipment.

The average dad spends about 6 hours a week with his kids. That’s not perfect, but today’s dads are doing better than the previous generation. PlaygroundDad.com is for the dads who dare to make the most of these 6 sacred hours–no smart phones; no conference calls–just quality time.

Playground Dad connects this new generation of fathers with the events and products that help them spend better time with their newborn to grade school aged kids.
