BabySmash!
0In today’s age of technology, we all have one form or another of a computer. And of course, our little ones always find a way to get on one. Now I’m sure most of us don’t have a problem letting them press/bang a few button in notepad. But the problems that lie are that they like to press ALL the buttons, not just the letters. Usually resulting in you saying, “How did you do that?” Let me introduce you to BabySmash!.
This simple and easy to use program has saved my sanity numerous amounts of times. I found this program about four years ago when my eldest was about 9 months old and kept wanting to get at our laptop. It not only satisfied his curiosity to bang on the keyboard but it kept him entertained.
The program is for the Windows operating system and is completely free, the creator describes the software as:
As babies smash on the keyboard, colored shapes, letters and numbers appear on the screen. Baby Smash will lock out the Windows Key, as well as Ctrl-Esc and Alt-Tab so your baby can’t get out of the application. Pressing ALT-F4 will exit the application and Shift-Ctrl-Alt-O brings up the options dialog.
I wrote BabySmash! for my 2 year old and 5 month old so they could bang on the keyboards of my Windows machines without hurting anything. It’s a copy/homage of the very fine and free AlphaBaby for the Macintosh.
I recommend this software to any parent with small children. It will keep your child entertained while you know that they can’t cause any trouble … at least for a little while.
