Always. Be. Closing. – Girl Scouts Look To Boost Cookie Sales During Recession
As a family with 4 daughters we have been involved with the Girl Scouts for years and it’s one of my favorite organizations. I’m that profoundly annoying father who bugs his colleagues during cookie season in an attempt to help my daughter drive towards her cookie revenue goals. It’s fun to watch her get organized, measure her progress and chase goals.
The Girl Scouts of Nassau County, New York have taken things even further by bringing in big people sales consultants to work with their top cookie pushers. The recent economic depression has proved that the seasonal Girl Scout cookie is not as recession proof as we might have assumed. These girls are also working with a smaller portfolio of cookies and a $0.50 increase in price per unit (from $3.50 to $4.00 a box). They’re bringing in the big guns to help make it rain even when their customers are holding on extra tight to their wallets.
