Union Square Christmas Tree Lighting

by Mike Johnson on November 24, 2009

Union Square Christmas TreeWe have made an effort to attend this post Thanksgiving event for years. Your new tradition may include a dinner out before the tree lighting and a stop at a bookstore for hot chocolate and book browsing afterwards.  This event is sure to get you in the Christmas Spirit immediately and kids of all ages will enjoy.

Macy’s hosts this 85 foot San Francisco Christmas tree from Mount Shasta.  Enjoy Holiday music leading up to Santa Claus himself lighting up the big tree for the first time of 2009.  If you want to get in on the giving action you can sponsor one of the thousands of lights with a $5 donation to the University of California San Francisco Children’s Hospital.

A free, festive way to kick off the holiday season.  You just might capture THE holiday card photograph as we have in the past
